Vile Intent - shadow of the skull ep €4.50
Apparently no one informed Canada that powerviolence didn't outlast the 90's. Excellent record here, Vile Intent Improves on their demo from 2008. Standard slow/fast progression but this is some of the sludgiest stuff that I have heard from these guys. Couldn't help but notice the large Swans back patch that singer had on his jacket, kinda explained the prolonged periods of heaviness. Love this.
Indeed, this is one of the best PowerViolence record i've heard for a very long period.

GNAW was formed in 2006 by Alan Dubin (ex-Khanate, OLD) along with Jamie Sykes (ex-Burning Witch, Thorr's Hammer, Atavist), Carter Thornton (Enos Slaughter), Jun Mizumachi (ex-Ike Yard: 80's NYC industrial legends) and Brian Beatrice (Emmy Award winning sound design/mix wizard).

Oh, you're into hardcore? Power-violence, you say? RUNNING FOR COVER provides a reality check for all those newjacks who need it. From the frozen tundra of Buffalo New York, this power-violence unit re-defines blasting fastcore. 1000mph blasting, insane riffage, MAN IS THE BASTARD bass-leads, incisive and critical lyrics throw it in a blender and you have the legendary RUNNING FOR COVER. Sadly, the band broke up a few years back, but they left us with this last will and testament to all things punishing and brutal. GREAT !!
Gas Chamber - s/t - LP €10.00
This band consists of members of THEY LIVE and RUNNING FOR COVER. Musically this is hardcore without a doubt but the band doesn't settle to just 1 set style. Spatterings of classic later '80s bands like G-ÄNX, HERESY and then a little bit of the early Slap A Ham influence can be noted here as well but even influence of IRON LUNG and ENDLESS BLOCKADE are apparent in the more experimental parts by the band. This is just hardcore with influence tapped from numerous sources, it is power-violence influenced but still hardcore.
Alehammer / Tyrant - split lp €10.00
Alehammer continue with their blend of classic uk crust and Celtic Frost/HELLHAMMER worshipping, heavy as hell makes all the neocrust bands look like scared little children. Featuring Scoot/Extinction of Mankind, Karl/Impulse Manslaughter and Shrew and Shrub/Prophecy of Doom. Tyrant are from Sweden and worship the swiss gods staying more on the metal side, death/black the old way influenced by Celtic Frost/Hellhammer, Bathory, Merciless and Discharge. Featuring Peter/Meanwhile-Crypt of Kerberos-Macrodex, Bragman and Andreas/The Black-Vinterland and Daniel/Insision-Dellamorte.

Moloch / Corpus Dei - split ep €4.00
uk sludge/hc vs. brutal buffalo hc. few words to describe superb bands. MOLOCH is an outstanding sludge band. watch out for their 10" and split lp with THOU and their RORSCHACH-cover song on the clone-compilation. HUGE !! CORPUS DEI rised up from the ashes of THEY LIVE, which was one of my favorite (what is it INFESTicated hardcore with a touch of PV ?) bands in the late 90's. CORPUS DEI is not as rough as THEY LIVE used to play, more straight, more metal in the guitars, maybe they just spent more time to record the songs !? But its still brutal and fucking refreshing. GREAT RECORD.

Aguirre are one of the rare bands that combines the styles of doom, crust and hardcore in a perfect manner. Epic, heavy and melodic tunes as hell. Atmosphere of tortured sick white trash.
Alright, here comes the new LP after a split LP with HONGO from spain, you'd better be prepared for some new doomy and gloomy stuff here. AGUIRRE take up new songs and just as on their demo they reek of darkness and agony. It's so present it's half painful to listen to it, but that's also what draws me in. It's like staring down a bottomless abyss of all that is evil, sensing it, as the complete black allows you to see nothing - and liking it. They haven't changed a whole lot from their previous releases, it's still the minimalist angst with the lonely guitar tunes alternated with thundering heaviness, as with the whispering and roaring vocals - all executed in a real slow pace. It hurts, and I love the pain. - alerta antifascista-

Thirteenth date and as evil as expected. Here we go:
H.C. Minds from Eugene, Oregon started back in the early 90'sby Isamu (Yob) and Mikey (Aldebaran) and sporadically released a couple of records, you should check the great split ep with dot(.) in 2003. Now H.C. Mind is back with 5 of their slowest but not less apocalyptic DOOM songs.
I.e. there is "Eyes Filled with Ashes" in which a 6 minutes lasting minimalistic atmospheric piano intro leads to an as minimalistic but more destroying sound with dual vocals. One break and 12 minutes later you are still paralyzed and wonder why your coffee is already ice-cold. But you don't care because "The Beginning of the End" just started to press your back into the seat.
This vinyl LP is ltd. to a total of 380 copies. As always 120 of them are handnumbered and in white compact vinyl. All records in 350g/m² full colored sleeves (artwork by Tom Denney) incl. double sided leaflet (21x21cm / 10"x10")
and full colored, huge sized (43x60cm / 17"x24") poster. Total playing time: 45 Minutes
